Service Update @ Park Avenue
We wanted to let you know of an evolving situation regarding worship at Park Avenue UMC. We have just discovered that we have had multiple staff members and volunteers who may have been exposed to COVID-19 and are awaiting test results that will not be available until late Saturday. We anticipate everyone will test negative, but out of an abundance of caution we feel that the safest course of action at this time for the safety of everyone including our worship staff is to postpone the in-person worship scheduled for this Sunday, June 28th.
This decision also impacts our ability to train necessary volunteers that must be in place in order to safely re-open. Therefore, we feel it is necessary to also postpone in-person worship on July 5th. The volunteer training on Saturday, June 27th has been postponed until a further date.
We are continuing to work on a plan for what Sunday, June 28th services will look like, but we will have some form of a service online at 8:55 and 11:00am.
We will address future in-person worship dates at a later time as we continue to monitor developments.
This experience has re-enforced the importance of getting tested should you or family members exhibit any COVID symptoms. We also ask that in the future if you have any interactions with the staff and test positive for COVID to please contact the Church Office.
Please continue to pray for our staff, volunteers, church members and others.
